Ich bin ein Stern

One of my favourite poems, which is haven't shares here yet is called "I am a star" by Inge Auerbacher. I thought about posting a translation, but I fear in this case the poem won't have anything of it's original grip left.

*It's wish list time again*

I have a short wish list this time because I guess I stocked up on everything and all the items from the list are actually affordable and will make their way into my home in the near future.
When I last visited the M.A.C store and one of the make-up artists was applying the new foundation with their 187 brush and although I do have a foundation brush, I don't actually like it and this brush seemed absolutely amazing. I never bought a M.A.C brush because I find them super pricey but I guess it's a good return on investment since it is supposed to last for a long time.
I also think it's time to switch up my evening cleansing routine a little, since the moisturiser doesn't really moisturise my forehead enough. So when I bought my scrub again the sales lady gave me a tester of the moisturising gel. I tried it for a few days and it really is great so I definitely need this in my arsenal.
I was always afraid of bronzer because I didn't know how to use it and it made my face look dirty but nowadays I actually know how to use it and how to properly contour my face. Plus I have to admit that this bronzer works wonders and I really should stay away from the M.A.C store because I always find stuff I want and cannot afford in the desired quantities.

M.A.C Matchmaster Foundation

A few days ago I strolled into the MAC store, big mistake, to buy my mother a present. She loves the Mineralize Foundation, which I once bought for myself but haven't used much and realised it was too dark for me (NW25) so it was passed on to her. Anyways, I went into the store to get it for her and of course one of the lovely ladies, who was helping me got me to try some foundations and showed me this new line called "Matchmaster". It is unique for MAC since it is neither NC not NW, but goes by numbers, where I was matched at 1.0, which is the lightest shade.
Of course I ended up buying it, so here is my quick review on it. Supposedly it is a medium, demi-matte coverage, however I find that it is rather medium light. It works great for me since I do not like heavy foundations and I am always afraid to look cakey and the matte finish is also great for me because I really hate sparkling foundations or blushes or anything of the sort and prefer a natural finish. Also, today I was wearing this foundation the whole day (roughly 14h) and it still looked fine by the end of the day and I neither used a primer nor a finishing powder, so in my view it is very durable.
Now just a short list of the products I use, when or if I do a full face:
- Primer (L'Oreal Studio Secrets)
- Foundation (Matchmaster by MAC in 1.0)
- Concealers (Studio Finish Concealer by MAC in NW20, Mastertouch Concealer by Max Factor in 306 and Indefectable by L'Oreal in 02)
- Blush (Powder blush in Melba Matte by MAC)
- Finish (Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder by MAC)
I hope you found my little review and the selection of products that I use helpful. I think soon I might actually try to make a video and upload it on Youtube.

The hair issue

I do apologise for the little hiatus but I flew home to Germany for a week, because it was my grandparents' golden wedding anniversary and didn't get to post, which now results in a little back-log.
Now, however is the perfect timing for a new post. It's Sunday evening and I'm cuddled up in my bed under my new duvet with a cup of delicious pineapple tea. And I am debating the hair issue. All my life except maybe the last year I have had long hair. And I have been cutting it a little short all the time. Nowadays I'm contemplating a pixie cut and gathered some pictures of what I liked:

Of course beautiful Natalie Portman
Emma Watson and Ginnifer Goodwin with a longer fringe front

I have to admit that I am scared to cut my hair because it is a huge step. Also for me like for most people long hair symbolises femininity so such a short crop really gives me thoughts, but then on the other hand it also looks so so cool.
Thoughts?

Simplicity

Today was the first day of the year where I had to leave the house with an umbrella because it was raining. It's time to get out the cardigans and enjoy their warm an cuddly texture. I love this particular cardigan that I'm wearing here because it was made of 55% silk and 45% cotton so it feels amazing to the touch.
I really think that although the outfit is really simple it still looks fashionable and great.

Long lost and found

One day many years ago an amazing perfume found its way to my grandmother. It was a gift from an old friend. However it was just the vial, almost empty with no tags on it whatsoever, so I never actually knew who this perfume is by. Anyways, today I went to the drug store to buy a new things and wondered into the perfume section and then I saw this:
This perfume is incredible. It has a soft and floral scent and since it's eau de perfum and I am very confident that the scent will stay on the whole day. I really cannot wait to use it.

Days becoming nights

As the evenings are getting colder and the days shorter it's nice to cuddle up on the couch with a few scented candles with a blanket over your feet, so that you're nice and warm (wollig warm as we call it). Watching a nice movie or listening to music, enjoying poetry and having a glass of wine.
My inspiration really always is my little Moleskin because once I open it I actually always have something to say or write.

So here another beautiful poem that I absolutely love and adore in the author's original handwriting:
It is called "Was es ist" or "What it is" for those of you who don't know German.

Lips as red as blood

So I decided that an outfit post is long over due and promptly to close that gasping gap. I am enjoying the last more or less warm days here and one can feel that autumn or rather winter is coming. So obviously one has to use the last chances he gets to wear maxi skirts with shirts, tops and flip flops before getting out all these chunky knits, scarves and boots.
I decided that it is absolutely necessary to wear that new skirt before I have to come up with ways of how to pair it with warmer clothing.
How do you like wearing maxi skirts? Please share.

The Shoe Appreciation Society

So today I have found the coolest thing while I was browsing. Obviously for me as a shoe addict it's absolute fuel and has to be shared!
Check this out:
Isn't this the coolest thing ever? I really want to get it as a print for my room because this epic and it will fit nicely into my new room, once it's done.

Tel Aviv impressions

Today I wanted to share a few impressions that I have of Tel Aviv and actually a few other places and cities with you. I find that Israel is just such an amazing and beautiful place that it's a shame to keep it all to myself. I hope you'll enjoy it.

And there was shopping time again...

So over the past few months I obviously have some additions to my wardrobe to share. Some little ones and some bigger ones. For some of them I have to thank my mother who came to visit and contributed towards the extension of my wardrobe.

First off is this gorgeous green Mango dress. Since I'm rather short I am wearing it with a thin brown belt and it just looks stunning.
The runner(s) up are the new shoes, that I acquired:
1. Aldo
I absolutely love open toe boots, or as we call them booties and I really wanted to have a pair with lace. I saw these boots on sale in Aldo and bought them immediately. Ironically I then saw them in the new collection and for the full price. I lucky me I guess!
2. Urban Shoes
Then there are these strappy sandals, which I really like and I couldn't wait to buy a pretty pair of blue shoes, which is also comfortable.
3. Zara
We have these absolutely amazing biker boots, which I cannot wait to wear with pretty much everything I've got, but unfortunately, although that might be in the eye of the beholder, it's not boot-time in Israel just yet. I do admit that I had enough of the heat and wouldn't mind a littel bit of coolness, but then again if I were in Europe I'd also be complaining...
And then we also have the brown ballerina slippers and I really am a sucker for those. I strongly believe that one can never have too many pair because they pretty much almost go with anything.
Then we have the "all about eyes" cream by Clinique, which I have been waiting for and dreaming about. I do have to say that I absolutely love it, as I do with all of Clinique's products. It's not sticky and doesn't burn in your eyes and I was most afraid about that before I started using eye cream. It has an incredibly light texture and the skin feels silky afterwards.
Further we have an H&M reptile print dress, which is great for the weather here because it can just be worn on the street without blazers, tights or cardigans.

Shoes SS 2012

I just cannot help it. Shoes are my major weakness, thus the first post about fashion week(s) is my little selection of a few trends that will be staying and/or coming up next season.
